I just starting to put this blog together as a web gallery from the past year or so. I will add to the posts that are already up, and add new adventures as they happen.

Sjoa July 07

After hectic running about, it was back with the usual suspects at the Sjoa Kayak Camp. This year saw monster water levels. The huge snow pack from the previous winter was still around after a relatively cool spring. This combined with unusually high level of rain led to record levels persisting throughout July.

No drugs were required for this exercise to get messy!

A day out on the upper Jura with the Swissies!

Humplehurst's Wedding

The second Wedding of the year was that of James and Cara Humple-hurst, at Cara's family home just outside of Durham.

As the night moved on, and large quantities of liquid refreshments were consumed, the party relaxed into the usual post wedding debauchery. Thanks has to go the the genius of Cara's mother for providing 200 pee shooters!

It goes without saying the Brock danced like a fairy!

And of course Holly was the best dressed on the dance floor!

Tellemark June 07

After dissapointing water levels in the Alps, we raced back to Norway in Matts cramped Astra, to catch the tail end of the spring melt in Telemark. With Eden Sinclair and Jono Ramsay fresh off the boat from NZ, it was a perfect oportunity to baptize them into Norwegian rivers.

Tessin, Switzeland

After finishing up in Italy, we passed through Switzerland on the way back up to Norway. The plan had been to complete a film we had started with Simon Westgarth the previous year, but due to low water levels in the region, we abandoned the trip. Not only is Switzerland a stunning place, but some how the Swiss manage to keep it immaculately groomed. To quote Dave Carrol, "the whole country is like one giant golf course!"

With more time on my hands than I had expected, I took some time to catch up with Brock, and take some more sensitive photos than normal.

Below are some shots from 2006, and what we had hoped to return to.

The Teva Games

With the wedding finished, we headed over on a group honeymoon to Val Sessia in Italy, and the Teva Mountain Games.

Slovinia April 07

The first paddler wedding of the year kicked off in style, as Simon and Satu tied the knot on the bank of the Soca river.

Sunnmøre Easter 07

Over the easter break, we headed over to Sunnmøre on the west coast of Norway, home of some of the most spectacular ski touring in the world.

Snow covered, 2000m peaks, rise out of the fjords, giving a stunning backdrop on the days you can see beyond your hand.

Warm wet weather meant we had to search a little harder for the snow.

Ra was feeling a bit confused. He was meant to

be training at sea kayaking.

Scotland March 07

This time I took the most beautiful girl in Norway home with me.

I couldn't help getting sensitive with my new macro lense!

Canada Feb 2007

After a short stay back in Oslo, I travelled over to the Vancouver Film Festival to preview our film '7 weeks in Tibet'.

I stayed with Steve 'Sickboy' Rogers, and old friend form Scotland, and organiser of the Film Festival.

Vancouver, with it's incredible backdrop of mountains.

Sickboy in his element, as far away from the ski hills as possible.

While in BC, I managed to fit in a bit of skiing. After heading over to Revelstoke to meet up with Graham and Mette Genge, we headed out to Sol Mountain Lodge for 4 days of incredible ski touring. Despite not having the best weather conditions, the snow was fantastic, with wide open gladed slopes, and great food put on at the cabin. Thanks must go to Arron for making us so welcome.

A long hike up each mountain, earned us our turns.

When it was clear enough, the views were stunning.
